LOHI Magazine #4 - The Nostalgia Issue
Founded in 2019, LoHi magazine is a XL print publication and lifestyle brand launched by two Miami-based queer, Hispanic creatives. The LoHi inhabits an editorial space that uplifts independent thinkers who find the niche, unlikely corners of our mainstream world fascinating. Our team of international creatives uncover narratives and makers across many disciplines. From fine art to music, to culture and preservation, our content is just as diverse as the interests and identities of our readers.
In this issue:
The fourth issue of The LoHi or the “Nostalgia Issue” explores the decadent and hyper creative era of Miami Beach in the 1990s through fashion, art, design, and personalities.
It captures a time when Hispanic refugees, European fashion photographers, and New York’s underground came together to create the South Beach we know today. Covered by “Queen of the Night” Tara Solomon, LoHi Magazine’s “Nostalgia Issue” features artist Carlos Betancourt, “Sex and The City” costume designer Danny Santiago, promoter Louis Canales, photographer David Vance and journalist Jordan Levin.
The Nostalgia Issue also highlights individuals currently shaping Miami’s future, including founder of the Reef Line Ximena Caminos, influencer and activist Tefi Pessoa, Commissioner founder Dejha Carrington, entertainer Athena Dion, artist Kelly Breez, gallerist Katia Rosenthal, and couturier Elle Barbeito.
